How can I know my energy usage accurately?
Check your energy bill for the most precise information. If you don’t have one, don’t worry; we use national average figures initially. After a few weeks of supplying your energy, we’ll update your estimate to ensure accurate billing.

Low-consumption homes are typically smaller (one or two bedrooms), newer (built after the 1970s), well-insulated, and frequently empty. They use approximately 1800 kWh of electricity.

Medium-consumption homes usually have around three bedrooms, and three to five occupants, and often have people at home during the day. They use approximately 2900 kWh of electricity.

High-consumption homes are typically larger (four or more bedrooms), older (built before the 1970s), and require a lot of heating. They use approximately 4300 kWh of electricity.
Will I keep my Smart Meter when switching suppliers?
Yes, we can connect to any SMETS2 smart meter and some SMETS1 smart meters (those made by the brand SecureTM). SMETS1 meters are upgraded, and we’ll notify you when your meter’s smart functionality is reactivated.
How long will my switch take?
Most switches take around three weeks, including the cooling-off period. Your new supplier will provide your exact switch date.
Do I need to contact my current supplier?
No, your new supplier will handle everything, including cancelling your existing supplier. Ensure you cancel your Direct Debit to the old supplier after the final payment.
How do final payments work?
Your new supplier charges you from the switch date, preventing double payments. After your final payment, cancel any Direct Debits to your old supplier. Your old supplier will send a final bill, and on the switch date, your new supplier takes over, charging you based on their terms and conditions.
Where does Rebel buy its energy?
Rebel sources 100% renewable electricity from trusted suppliers, either directly from renewable generators or through the Renewable Energy Guarantees of Origin (REGO) scheme. Rebel is building relationships with UK wind, solar, and hydro farms, working toward empowering customers to generate their own energy and promoting a local, regenerative, and community-led energy model.
What if I’m moving house or have just moved in?
If moving out, inform them in advance to close your current account or switch supply to your new property. Ideally, provide 17 days’ notice, but Rebel can accommodate shorter notice periods. If moving in, email [email protected] with your details to set up your new account. Remember, you won’t lose supply during the move, as the existing provider continues until you decide otherwise.
